Aquateam Studies: 
1. OSE II – Biostimuleringsprodukt for oljesanering.
Aquateam performed a literature study for PGTN. The report is written in Norwegian and gives an
excellent review of available documentation of OSE II.

2. OSE II – A Cold Climate Oil Spill Bioremediation Product.
This was a report done in preparation for a meeting with NOFO in Sandes in June 2026. A very
thorough review of OSE II documentation to show OSE II is an excellent added way of cleaning an oil
spill in Norwegian territories..
 

NIVA Report: 
The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) did a test for PGTN on OSE II.
Name of test: "Determination of the 72-hour toxicity of OSE II to the marine algae Skeletonema pseudocostatum.
 

Emergency Response: Comprehensive Information for Addressing Hydrocarbon Spills in The Water or on Shorelines
The paramount purpose of this document is to define and allow all Global Authorities, US NRT/RRT’s members, Responsible Parties, and End users, as well as all the oil spill response community, to understand why spills are cleaned up and why OSE II is the (BAT) Best Available Technology.

Oil/Hydrocarbon based spills are cleaned up to reduce the toxicity of the spill to the environment, so that living organisms can survive, including single-celled organisms. By accomplishing this task, marine species, humans, and natural resources are protected in accordance with the Clean Water Act and OPA 90, and Global requirements.

Sample Response Plan: OSE II’s Comprehensive Oil/Fuel, Hydrocarbon-based material
This document has a fourfold purpose. It can be a roadmap for Norwegian companies and authorities:

1. ​To define how OSE II remediates the broad spectrum of hydrocarbons or hydrocarbon-based materials, including halogenated hydrocarbons and pesticides.

2. To outline a process by which Global Authorities, Responsible Parties, End users, or US Federal On-Scene Coordinators (OSCs) in all RRT’s may access use of OSE II or authorization/pre-approve use of OSE II, category EA first response bioremediation for spills of oil or hazardous substances (the spill site or authorization procedures presented are consistent with the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), and Global regulations.

3. To outline the types of information necessary to show OSE II a first response Bioremediation Category EA proven product/process is feasible, provide as much of this information in advance as possible, and outline a mechanism for capturing information on OSE II a First Response bioremediation agent for use and future decision making.

4. To describe how to implement OSE II category EA first response bioremediation activity and determine its effectiveness.
